NEW BUSINESS

ICSSD:

Claire Gadbois handed out the ICSSD Presidents’ Night award applications to President Bob Rushman and asked those present to think of whom to nominate for the banquet. Claire also reminded everyone of the upcoming Jim Haigh Memorial Dive on July 19th.

SURVEY PROJECTS:

  • Tacoma: Keith Pearson agreed to get previous data on the Tacoma and submit it to Bob Rushman. Bob & Claire Gadbois will be diving on the Tacoma and the Material Service Barge on Saturday, July 25th. They agreed to supply video and stills from these dives. Bob Rushman is the coordinator.
  • St. Mary and Rotarian Keith Pearson said he would have these two reports in one year.
  • Solon H. Johnson: Tony Kiefer said he needed one more dive to finish the drawings. Jim Jarecki added that he needs to do a bit more research at the National Archives for this project.
  • General: Robert Hughes agreed to do drawings based upon video or stills from any project. Jim Jarecki said he would look into the best format to archive the materials. Keith Pearson offered an aluminum 80 tank and John Bell offered $20 to the first person to complete a project.
  • Land-Based Survey Training: John Bell said he was unable to provide the training. Tony Kiefer volunteered to do the training at a UASC meeting.

The meeting ended with Dean Nolan giving a short presentation on the George W. Morley. This was followed by Bob Gadbois showing an old video documenting the discovery and subsequent raising of the Mystery Ship, Alvin Clark.
