* We are looking for members who can donate food or liquid refreshments for this Sunday's picnic lunch. I will supply hamburgers and hot dogs. Please let me know what item(s) -- salad, chips, dessert, condiments, beverages -- if any, you can bring.
Dear UASC member:
We encourage everyone -- old members, new members, divers and non-divers -- to join us on Sunday, June 5, for a fun day at Haigh Quarry in Kankakee, Ill. Bring your dive gear, cameras and survey equipment -- a food item or drink to share with others as this is an excellent place to picnic, relax and enjoy the day. While there, we also hope to review our survey techniques with a couple training exercises on land and underwater. Also, Dan Howard, from DJ's Scuba Locker, will be there to give us an introductory presentation about the new "Artifact Park" that he has developed at the quarry to train new divers in underwater archaeology. If you are relatively new to the UASC and want to participate in diving with the UASC, this day is definitely for you. One of our goals on June 5th will be to orient new members and guide them into the program -- so if this fits you we hope one of your goals will be to join us on Sunday. Once the diving season begins, there may not be another chance for this. Please don't miss out on this opportunity!
Please RSVP to let us know if you are coming and what dish or other item you can bring. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Help is requested for buns, condiments, salads, chips, beverages, etc. A number of grills and picnic tables are available at Haigh Quarry. Finally, pray for a sunny day!
