In our continuing effort to spread the word about the UASC to others, UASC members Jim Jarecki, Tony Kiefer and Gene Hasiak gave (or plan to give) talks to a scuba club and boating group. Jim and Tony visited the May 16 Chicago Scuba Meetup to give an extensive overview of Chicago shipwrecks and other underwater treasures.
CSM member and UASC President-Elect Dean Noble said, "Several members walked away saying that this was one of the best presentations they have heard at a CSM eventŠ Jim's talk gave an excellent overview, covering everything from Lake Michigan's coral reefs and underwater forests, to more recent events such as the sinking of the Straits of Mackinac. Tony talked about the Tool Crib disaster and gave his presentation on the Zion Mystery Wreck."
Gene Hasiak is scheduled to visit the Great Lakes Yacht Club in Lake Bluff, Ill., on Saturday, May 21st. He plans to give the group an overview of the UASC's history and accomplishments. Thanks to all of the above for their efforts in spreading the word. If you are interested in getting participating in future UASC presentations, please speak up and get involved!
